We’re trying a mailing list, as a way for Dimona owners to talk to each other. (If you haven’t used one before: a mailing list is a special email address. Any message to it goes to all the list subscribers, so it’s a way to talk to many people at once.) Everyone is welcome to join this list.
To subscribe to the DOG list:
send an e-mail to dog-subscribe@lists.riverland.net.au. No special kind of message is needed, but it should come from the address where you want the list messages sent.
then follow the instructions in the email that comes back to you.
To UNsubscribe from the DOG list:
send an e-mail to dog-unsubscribe@lists.riverland.net.au. No special kind of message is needed, but it should come from the address you want UNsubscribed.
then follow the instructions in the email that comes back to you.
Please remember that the chat list is NOT a private place to talk. You don’t know who else is reading the messages… CASA, the CFI, your mum. There is a public archive of the list, so anyone can read it. So “play nice” or you may be asked to leave.
About this list
You must be subscribed to a list to send a message on it. This will keep the majority of junk mail off our lists.
There’s a size limit and an attachment limit on our lists. The size limit is presently 1 megabyte. Some types of attached files are not accepted and will be stripped from a message before it goes out on the list. These limits will keep the mail flowing smoothly, and also keep viruses from spreading on the list.
If you want to send everyone a file bigger than 1 megabyte – don’t! Instead, put it on a webpage and tell everyone the address. Or send it to ONE person at their own email address.
There is a public archive of the list, where anyone can look at old messages that have passed on the list: DOGs mailing list archive
If you subscribe, your addresses will be used ONLY for the mailing list. So… the list of subscribers’ addresses is not available.
There is an info file for each list. Most of the info is on this webpage, but if you want to read it, send email to dog-info@lists.riverland.net.au and the DOG list info file will be sent to you.
If you’re still having trouble with the lists, please email the list owner and ask for help. His address is dog-owner@lists.riverland.net.au
