As expected day 6 turned out to be a great days gliding with some very good speeds. Matthew Scutter won Sports class with a speed of 140kph. Some pilots had to come back early due thunderstorm build up to the east of the Hattah circle. Club class had a ball only reaching oxygen needed heights of 10,000 ft with lots of good strong climbs available. Steven Jinks commented he had the best day flying the cirrus as fast as it can go only to have achieved 12 place at 105.3kph. This day also helped Stev recover from his 350k retrieve from Sandalwood on day 5.
Day 7 will prove to be even more challenging with tasks again into the Northern Adelaide ranges and expected CB activity over us will see a 10k finish line around Waikerie. Trough lines and convergence zones are all in the mix.
